PENANCE is an intense horror film concept where retribution is swift and visceral. With kills inspired by Dante Alighieri's "Dante's Inferno: The Divine Comedy" this project from Inferno Productionz was shot on a Canon 60D with a small budget of $10,000. PENANCE was filmed exclusively in San Diego, CA, and is a shining example of high ¬production, low¬ budget filmmaking that was made possible by collaboration in the local film and acting community.

The FX team created an experience for the audience with a marriage of practical in camera effects and Digital Visual FX, along with great acting and set design. Practical effects were provided by Cosmetic Creations by Kimber, Andy Trimlett FX, Brit Carney Makeup, Francia Cohen of EFX Makeup and 9 Levels Below FX.

Due to scheduling conflicts, Edward Wylie replaced the original actor as Papa T, receiving the heavy dialogue scene 18 hours before call time.
