The story was considered to be Epicentre's first film, but the need to complete the film within three months meant the project collapsed. It was only picked up again the next year, and pre-production began in April 2015.

The original draft of the script finished in ArtsEd's top 20 short film scripts of 2014.

Most of the comedy punchlines are scripted, but director Tom Pethick admits one of his favorite lines was ad-libbed: Actor James Rose asked whether he could add "Abra-kadabra, Bitch." to the end of one of his long speeches. The director loved it and kept it in.

The movie was filmed in the writer and directors home village, Wanborough, but he decided to change the name of the village to 'Longton' after his granddad's surname.

The pub sequences were filmed in The Plough Inn, Wanborough. The Inn is one of four functioning pubs on the village's high street.

The film finished third place for "Best Drama" at the National Student Television Awards, with judges praising its "wit... strong performances... and ambition."

Director Tom Pethick actually plays a number of uncredited roles beyond playing 'Policeman/Jeoffrey'. He plays the voice on the end of the telephone to Tim Hook, he plays the voice shouting at David at the end of the film and dubs Craig, Tim Hook and George's characters in various places throughout the film.
