To spoof the title which no longer matches the content of the series, in the second season the producers started adding self-deprecating jokes to the show's title card. The one for this episode reads: The tabloids say the cast dates each other on "Cougar Town" ...but they don't.

"Hooch is crazy." was a running joke on Scrubs which Sam Lloyd and Christa Miller were cast members and Bill Lawrence executive produced.
