This was one of the funniest comedies I have seen in years. No ridiculous gimmicks, just great lines, hilarious scenes, and terrific comedic timing by the cast. The Devil losing his position to term limits is a great premise and having New Jersey become the new Hell is perfect comedy material. While there are no big name "stars" in this film, there are several "that guys" in this film that you will recognize and most of the cast is stellar. As a fan of good dialogue being delivered well by good actors this film was right in my wheelhouse. The story, while silly and ridiculous is solid and does keep you involved throughout. Very few slow spots. I am really happy I found this movie.

I really enjoyed this film. I found it very funny and thought the acting was very good. There are so many characters and I thought most of them added to the humor of the film. I disagree with the reviewer who thought the movie looked bad. It is definitely an low budget film, but the look, locations and lighting didn't distract me at all. A lot of the humor has a range of pop culture references so maybe being from Norway he didn't get a lot of the references. A lot of the film is dialogue but it is very witty, quick and funny that I didn't mind the lack of action. I wasn't in the mood for another action film anyway. I definitely thought they did good job since most indie comedies I see fall flat. This film did not.

This movie is so bad that they even have overexposed light in the movie. Its super low budget and the whole movie is just dialog and it is not funny at all. There is nothing happening and very few locations. The whole first part of the movie is in a office, with dialog!!! Really? It was so boring, that you think its a joke. I went to the premiere and the only people lauging was the film makers them self. There is no story, horrible acting, horrible lighting and the camera work is just ridiculous. This movie is worse then a student film! They need to learn how to make a film, use a camera, lightning and it was just so embarrassing to see it. There is a scene in a car, which looked like its a home video. OMG its just so bad that it irritating

Being an independent film, Jersey Devil may lack some of the "sheen" of your average Hollywood offering, (mind-blowing FX, over-the-top action, etc...), but I would hardly call it a "B" movie - more like a "B+", with some finer "A-" moments! The modest budget shows occasionally in some of the rather austere sets and sparse effects, but the acting and dialog are both top-notch! Some of the cultural references had me in stitches, and all the characters, even the baddies, were quite likable. I thoroughly enjoyed it's quirky humor and light-hearted atmosphere! Add to that a dramatic, at times menacing soundtrack, including several excellent indie artists, and this film is well worth the price of admission! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the typical, predictable mainstream film fare!
