First episode of the fifth season takes on the controversial and fiercely debated topic of alien conspiracies, in this case the by now legendary incident at Roswell New Mexico in 1947, where a reputed alien spacecraft crash-landed, though this was later claimed to be a weather balloon. Features a rare on-screen interview with Jesse Marcel, who was a pivotal figure at the time(and died not long after this aired). This then leads into the equally legendary Hangar 18, where the alien spacecraft was reportedly taken. A scientist and author is interviewed about his involvement, recruiting another to help him, but of course the Air Force denies all such claims. The mystery is still here...

Not bad. In Search of UFO Coverups is one of those more interesting episodes. UFO Coverups has the pro and con sides. There is pictures, and footage of UFOs. Project Blue Book. Experts who debunks UFO's as a non threat to the US. There is investigation about the Roswell and the airbase rumors. Interviews, with Roswell people, military, government workers, and lawyer who wants freedom of information on the what could be coverups. Some could be true. Other just good fiction to make money. Not bad. More entertaining than anything else. 7 out of 10 stars. Worth watching for season 5. One of the better episodes. If true the story is so unbelievable it would be easy to cover up.

In Search Of... "UFO Coverups" (1980)

The first episode in season five takes a look at the various UFO sightings that have happened and why the government might not want people to know what's really out there. We hear from a couple UFO experts who talk about their theories as well as hear from one man who has a story that deals with actual aliens. If you're a fan of the show or just the topic then you should enjoy this episode, which certainly gets the season off to a very good start. Once again the subject itself is fun and there are enough interesting stories discussed to make it worth sitting through.
