The Japanese Wii version of the game features some characters not available in any other version of the game: Frieza Soldier, Appule, Cyborg General Tao, Pilaf Robot, and Piccolo Daimao.
Any Saiyan character with a tail can do the Great Ape transformation. Nappa, Raditz, and Turles were never seen transforming into this state on the show, so their Great Ape forms make their world debut in this game.
The most powerful attack in the entire game is (normal form) Goku's Spirit Bomb.
According to the encyclopedia in the game, Jeice and Salza are of the same species.
First Dragon Ball Z game to feature Garlic Jr. Turles, Slug, Salza, Fat Janemba, Tapion and Hildegarn as playable characters.
Although this is technically a Dragon Ball Z game, characters from the original Dragon Ball and from GT were included. Original series characters include Kid Goku, Master Roshi, and General Tao. GT characters include Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, Pan, Syn/Omega Shenron, and Baby Vegeta.
When you collect the Dragon Balls, you can summon the dragon and make a wish for a new skill. If you do this on Earth, you only get one wish, but if you do it on Namek you summon Porunga and get three wishes.
Contrary to popular belief, this is not the first Dragon Ball Z game to let you play as Zangya and Bojack. They were playable in the Japanese only Fighting Story 2 for the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo.
