We all go out to the supermarket wanting a pint of milk but then come back with much more than that. This programme takes that idea and actually tries to help the families involved reduce their spending.

What I like about this show is that the hosts are not patronising to the families, they are not trying to shame them into changing their ways. Instead it's all about educating them (and hopefully the audience at home) into...well, eating for less.

Good for the BBC making a programme like this, especially at a time when obesity and over spending is high in this country. I hope this show is brought back for further series in the future.

This program is so repetitive. Basically on every episode you have arrogant, baldy Gregg Wallace preaching the same old nonsense to the public. Choose store brands to make your shopping cheaper, apparently it's healthier and tastes the same. Now this might fool the ill-informed working class family with no taste or common sense but I beg to differ.

You are not getting a bargain by choosing the store brand. The reason why it's cheaper is because 1 it's slightly smaller, 2 it's been diluted with water and 3 you end up using more of it. Gregg Wallace claims that they put less sugar in store brands. This is not correct. The store brand contains less sugar because it's been diluted with water. For example with ketchup, juice, jams. You are simply buying less, you are not getting a deal. Think of it has diluting half a tropicana juice with the other half water then selling it 50 pence cheaper. You are not getting a bargain you are being conned into believe you have a good deal. This is so patronising and anyone who knows their maths can see the scam.

Everyone says the BBC is left. This has not been true since 2010. The BBC is just the tory government disguised as left wing hippies. Why do you think the BBC seem so aggressively pc it's almost like they're being fake? That's because they are. If the torys hated the BBC so much they would have gotten rid of it ages ago. The government owns the media and this program is basically the tory government trying to justify their cuts by teaching people to live like peasants. And it is disgusting that people are too blind to see it.
