IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity, it is a number used to identify a phone across multiple national & international mobile networks. While a phone's Subscriber Identity Number (SIM) can change, when the SIM card is changed, the IMEI is a number unique to the phone, it does not change even with a different SIM card. This makes it easier to track and/or block a person's phone even when it has a different SIM card; if someone's phone's IME number is blacklisted (say for criminal activity or if the phone is stolen) they cannot make calls on the phone's network, and often other networks as well, even if the SIM card is changed.

This is the first season premiere to have absolutely no reference to Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo. However, Bishop introduces us to "floor time", very much like Tony's "campfires", they are brainstorming sessions. So while he isn't mentioned there is still a hint of him.

Let me preface this review by saying that I have been a loyal NCIS viewer for the past fourteen years. It has been one of my favorite programs for over a decade.

The Season Opener for season fourteen is one of the most preposterous plot points I have seen on any CBS television series. The NCIS field team is stranded somewhere in the jungles of South America. The GPS on their cell phone is not working, so they are saved by .....loading a dating App onto the phone. Mererly by knowning the number of miles away they are able to immediately find the precise point in the Jungle to send the rescue team. What utter nonsense. What incredibly lazy writing.

This episode better not be indicative of the quality of upcoming episodes for this venerable series -- or it won't make it to Season 16.

Is this show going to give us any groundbreaking episodes? Maybe not, but this was a good start to the season. It felt special, it was a tad edgy at times, and it gave Bishop and Torres the "urgent" material their characters needed to shine.

Sean Murray's acting wasn't quite up to par in the show, but overall good episode, and good to have NCIS back for Season 15.

I can't expect every episode of our favorite show to be top-notch, but this one is the worst we've ever seen.

The whole episode seems to have been written and directed by the "B" team of writers. Way too much unbelievable action. Cheap thrills.

I hope this isn't a harbinger of the rest of the season.
