This is one of the rare episodes to feature all the main characters in one episode.

Lorelei suggests that a Confederate ghost may be haunting the inn. This would be highly unlikely since no Civil War battles were fought in the Union state of Connecticut.

Rory is 20 years old at this point, while legal drinking age is 21 in the US. Up until now, Rory was rarely offered alcohol by Lorelai or the grandparents, and even when she was, it seemed more like a joke and she declined and opted for soda or water instead. In this episode, as Emily and Richard are celebrating, she politely takes a glass of champagne, but then immediately puts it on the table.

When Logan and Rory are in the bar, the song 'Six months in a leaky boat' by New Zealand rock band Split Enz is playing in the background.
