Although DH is consistently the best written show on TV, this episode was exceptional. This episode deserves an Emmy. It is hard to believe that DH has never won an Emmy for writing. I don't understand why it is in the comedy category, although it is hilarious and I laughed out loud at this episode many times. It does not feel like a comedy to me. The only nomination for writing was the pilot, which was competing against "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Arrested Development". I like these shows, but are they comparable to DH? Hey Emmy people- find or create an appropriate writing category for the best written show on TV and then give them an Emmy.

Mama Spent Money When She Had None is an episode that explores how money and finances affect friendship and relationship. The events that happen here attest to that.

Bree is reaping the success of her new book as she rewards herself by purchasing brand new car.The same isn't true for the Scavos as both Lynette and Tom are determined to sell the latter's Mustang to have some extra cash at hand.Bree tries to provide some help for them by giving them some money but it provides disastrous results as it alienates her from them.

As for Susan, she is determined to send her son to the best school - an expensive private school - despite the fact that both she and her ex- husband Mike could not afford it.This only minimizes the tension that revolves around her and Mike's current girlfriend Katherine as she tries to provide some help financially.

As for Gabrielle, she joins Edie's boot camp to get herself back in shape. This minimizes the tension between them as they get together during the event.

This is a good episode in the sense that we get to see how finances can hurt and help friendship and relationships. The dynamism of it are explored in the story lines of the characters at Wisteria Lane.Added to that,we also get to see how people can react to having an excess and a shortage of it especially when they have something in mind.Overall,it was a thought provoking episode that is not common a typical one that mostly provides drama and humor for the viewer.
